About the Role
Our nutritional aide is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of culinary services for our students and staff. They assist with meal planning, ensure that students are served hot appropriate portion sizes, and food is delicious and nutritious. This role includes sourcing the ingredients, preparation and serving of a planned menu. You will lead the setup and serving of food from the counter and ensuring all working areas are kept clean and tidy. Your welcoming customer service puts a smile on our students faces and makes an impact in their everyday lives. Other responsibilities include operating and cleaning equipment after each use.
Responsibilities
Creates a monthly menu for lunches to be served. Prepares the corresponding shopping list needed to prepare meals
Keep track of paper supplies and utensils required for serving and eating meals
Prepares food to ensure it is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable culture, company and county standards
Follows proper food handling procedures
Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness
Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and accurately store according to food safety standards
Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen products
Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift (including cleaning of kitchen equipment)
Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations
Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures
Follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures
Completes all required training

Qualifications
Experience cooking for large groups
Experience with putting together flavors kids will eat
Extremely organized and excellent time management skills
Candidates must be legally able to work in the United States of America

About the Company
CSU Summer Algebra Institute (SAI), is a FREE five week study designed by California State University to improve college readiness in the area of mathematics. This is a limited opportunity for a select few students and the only host site in the entire Silicon Valley area able to offer this with a direct link to the CSU Chancellor's office. The Summer Algebra Institute program aligns with CSU’s ambitious Graduation Initiative 2025 goals that aim to increase graduation rates for all CSU students while eliminating equity gaps. We work in conjunction with them to bring this amazing summer program to families in our community.
